Privacy notice
What this website collects, why, who else sees it, and how to say no. Written to describe what the site actually does.
This notice covers novabodyshop.com, run by Nova Body Shop, 8415 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78753 ("we"). Questions or requests: email novabodyshop@yahoo.com or call 512-837-7723.
Information you send us
When you use the estimate form, you send us your name, phone number and/or email, vehicle details, a description of the damage, optional photos, your preferred contact method and whether insurance is involved. We use it only to answer your request and to provide the repair you ask for.
- The request is emailed to the shop's mailbox (currently a Yahoo Mail account).
- A text-only copy (no photos) is kept on our web server for up to 90 days as a backup in case an email is lost, then deleted automatically.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How you found us (attribution)
To understand which pages help people, the site notes the first page you visited, the pages you viewed during the visit, the FAQ questions you opened, and campaign information in the link that brought you (such as utm tags or a Google Ads click id, and the website that referred you). This is sent with your estimate request in a hidden field so we know how you found us. From the site you came from, we keep only the domain, never the full address, and we never record what you type in page addresses.
These notes are stored in your browser's local storage (not cookies) under names beginning with fy_. Campaign details expire after 90 days; visit details after 15 minutes of inactivity. If you are in the European Union or the UK, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is written to your device until you accept.
Analytics and session recordings
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) measures visits and actions such as calls, texts, direction requests and form submissions. It uses first-party cookies. Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling and anonymized session replays, so we can fix confusing pages. Clarity masks form input. It uses cookies. Microsoft's statement: privacy.microsoft.com.
In the United States these tools are on by default, and you can turn them off with the cookie banner or the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. If you are in the EU or the UK, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, they stay off unless you accept. Analytics are also switched off automatically on test copies of the site and for automated browsers.
Spam protection
The estimate form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3, which loads only when you start filling in the form. It collects hardware and software information about your device and sends it to Google to tell people from bots. Its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. To limit abuse, the server also keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for one hour. Your actual IP address is not stored.
Other browser storage
fy_consent: remembers your cookie choice.nova_lang: remembers whether you chose English or Spanish.fy_equipo: only set on our own staff's browsers to exclude them from analytics.
Text messages and phone calls
If you text or call us, we use your number and what you send, including photos, only to answer you and to handle your repair. We do not send marketing text messages, and we do not sell or share your number for marketing. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers' "Do Not Track" setting has no common standard, so this site does not respond to it. We do honor Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends it, analytics and session recording stay off and nothing is written to your device for attribution unless you turn them on.
How long we keep information
- Estimate requests in the shop's mailbox: as long as needed to handle your repair and our business records, then deleted.
- Text-only backup of form requests on our server: up to 90 days.
- Hashed IP address used for spam limits: one hour.
- Analytics data: kept by Google and Microsoft under their own retention settings, which we keep at or below 14 months for Google Analytics.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), a private server folder that is not reachable from the web, and spam and abuse limits on the form. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as payment card, driver's license or Social Security numbers through the website.
Service providers
The website is hosted by GoDaddy, whose servers keep standard access logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for security and operation. The providers named above process data in the United States.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we have from you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing novabodyshop@yahoo.com. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law, such as the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, you may have additional rights, and we will respond to requests as that law requires.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If the site starts doing something new with your information, we will update this notice first. Last updated September 28, 2026.
