Nova Body Shop is a family-owned auto body shop on North Lamar in Austin, Texas, repairing collision damage, bumpers, dents and paint since 1980, with free walk-in estimates in 5 to 15 minutes.

How Nova started

Nova Body Shop opened in 1980 at 8415 North Lamar Boulevard, when this stretch of North Austin looked very different. The shop has stayed a family business the whole time, run by the same family and still at the same address. Many of the people who walk in today were first brought here by a parent.

How we work

We work the way a family shop has to if it wants to be around for four decades: look at the car with you, tell you what it needs and what it doesn't, and put the numbers in writing. Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair is not worth the money, or that a cheaper fix will do. We say so.

• A workmanship warranty: if our work fails because of us, we make it right.

The shop

We have service bays for body work, a frame straightening bench for structural repairs, and a paint booth for refinishing. The main office is under the canopy by the sign, and that is where every estimate starts. The shop dog usually greets you first.
